GETHSEMANE

Jesus climbed the hill to the Garden still; His steps were heavy and slow.

Love and a prayer took Him there to the place only He could go.

Gethsemane! Jesus loves me, So He went willingly to Gethsemane.

He felt all that was sad, wicked, or bad, all the pain we would ever know.

While His friends were asleep, He fought to keep His promise made long ago.

Gethsemane! Jesus loves me, So He went willingly to Gethsemane.

The hardest thing that ever was done, 

The greatest pain that ever was known,

The biggest battle that ever was won

His was done by Jesus!

The fight was won by Jesus!

Gethsemane! Jesus loves me,

So He gave this gift to me in Gethsemane.

Gethsemane! Jesus loves me, So He gives this gift to me from Gethsemane.

Jesus Christ is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness. Studying the word of God in the holy scriptures will bring abundance to your life. His words will fill you - and those you teach - with light and truth. They will help you - and those you teach - live righteously and receive divine protection and strength. They will help you come to know Him and taste His Love, which is sweet above all that is sweet. His words will fill your soul with joy. 

The scriptures are a heavenly gift. One of the great blessings of your mission is having a scheduled time to study them every day. 

Pres Nelson said the scriptures are the tool of the gathering. 

True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrine of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior will improve behavior.

Hope of Israel

Some people in the SLC area think we are not in the mission field.  But we are in the KILL BOX of the mission field, he said.   We have more keys in this area.  Think of how many bishops and stake presidents and leaders there are in this area!

Pres Lee was told we are a casual mission. 

Casualness- done without effort or purpose. 

"Sound the ward cry watch and pray"  We don't accept casualness.  "Vanquish" casualness. 

How do I vanquish it?    OBEDIENCE.

Misunderstanding of obedience. 

Wrong Forms of Obedience

Obedience is just keeping a bunch of picky rules.

Following rules is blind obedience

Obedience limits my agency.

 I woke up this morning singing a song from the new hymnbook called " Believe ."  Then what happens? I come to zone conference for the Service Missionaries and the choir was practicing a song for it.  Of course, it was this song.  This happens all the time!   You know what Albert Einstein said. My Blessing

  On June 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm I was set apart by the stake president as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I couldn't have been more happy about anything. My whole heart and soul were so happy.  I was fasting and so prepared to receive this blessing. My blessing.  Pres Dunkley blessed me to have the spirit to guide me in my duties. He blessed me with the ability to love the missionaries and to form life long relationships with them. He blessed me with health.  Here's the kicker! He blessed me that my arms and legs function properly.  I was a little surprised about the last words in the blessing. You see, the night before, Saturday, May 30th, I was in the emergency department at the University of Utah hospital with a terrible pain in my right leg.  President Dunkley did not know about this visit to the hospital. This was all made known to him though the Spirit.  I thought I had a blood clot in my leg and I know how se...

President Dallin H. Oaks

  Dallin H. Oaks was sustained as the prophet, seer and revelator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I know he is a prophet. One day shortly after President Nelson passed away I was reading the most recent general conference talk by President Oaks.  This is what he said in the talk. "One of the most significant of God's helps for His faithful children is the gift of the Holy Ghost." We have to be baptized in order to get this gift, he says. And, "All who possess this inestimable gift, this pearl of great price, has a continual thirst after righteousness and without the aid of the Holy Spirit no mortal can walk in the straight and narrow way." He says we simple cannot walk the straight and narrow way without baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost.  He answered my long lost question I have had.  Why do we need baptism?
